Some people are blessed with the ability just to see the style lines of a pattern and see beyond sometimes dodgy envelope artwork/ fabric choice. I am unfortunately not one of them! I think this is why I sew a lot of indie patterns - I see lovely versions on bloggers with fabrics and styling I prefer. So great initiative from Simplicity to get more involved with the community!
If you haven't done so already, tweet @SewSimplicity with your blog address to get involved with some of their plans!
Anyway, on to the giveaway!
We were asked to choose a pattern for ourselves and 2 to give away to our readers.
This was my pattern:

The other pattern was this:

I have one copy of each pattern to give away - Simplicity 1882 in size 6-14 (edited to correct the sizes - see this post) and Simplicity 1608 in size 16-24 (Edited to correct the sizes as before). Let me know in the comments below which one you'd like (and if you like, tell me what version and fabric). It would be cool if you followed my blog, but you don't have to! I'll choose a winner at random on 1st August. Happy to post worldwide.
And hopefully the good hair/ good weather/ non-stroppy child stars will align so that I can get some pics of my lovely just-finished Simplicity 2444 to show you!
Id like the 1606, maybe in the overlay version. Have I been kicked out, lol!
ReplyDeleteoh no! sorry! of course not. i knew i had forgotten someone!
DeleteHaha, doesn't matter! Hope you have a great time camping this weekend!
DeleteI'd love to have the one that makes size 6 - 14. I probably would go with a black and white print on this, and make it a staple in my work wardrobe.

Doh! I failed to win Karen's giveaway for the 1606 at Did You Make That, so I bought it!! It arrived today. Double doh!
ReplyDeleteAnd I have just started a love affair with Amazing Fit patterns... got two on the go at the minute. But yes- you have to get past the dodgy photos! ;)

How sweet are those Simplicity peeps? I like the 1882... and could use it easily! ~Laurie
ReplyDeleteI love both of these patterns. I'd like 1606. It looks very versatile....I probably go with a nice print.
ReplyDelete~Tonya
I love both but would have to go for 1608 - you are right about looking beyond the nasty pink!

Hi - just read your note about sizes - can I change to 1882 please? I am thinking of a lovely light summery cotton!

Hola me gusta mucho 1882
ReplyDeleteI'd love 1606. I've got some vintage 50's fabric which is off-white with subtle blue flowers which would look fab made up in this.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to have a go at making 1606. I think I could make a really pretty dresss using that pattern. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI love 1882, but it's not in my size, so 1606 it is :)
ReplyDeleteI would love the 1606 please. And since your follow-up blog post said it's actually the larger size, it would work perfectly for me!
ReplyDeleteI would love 1606 first it's in my size and a princess seam dress pattern is a great asset- lots of possible variations to be made from one pattern.

Ooo I'd love the 1882! The seam lines are a really interesting design and I remember both of Karen's versions vividly because they are so gorgeous!
ReplyDeletePlease count me in for 1882 now that i see the size is 6-14 on that one! I love the fun pocket details! Thanks for the giveaway and the update!
ReplyDeleteI would like to be in the draw for 1882. Keeping my fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win the 1882.
ReplyDeleteI shouldn't enter but I do really want that first one...
ReplyDeleteHi there Joe, I would like to enter for pattern 1882 simply because I am a size 8 and do not want to grade patterns. In fact, stay tuned for a terrific giveaway I will be having in August of a bunch of fabulous vintage patterns that are too big for me (that I don't want to grade) and so will be hosting a giveaway for! Yay! Oh, and also fingers crossed that I win your giveaway! :)
ReplyDeleteThey're both gorgeous but the 1882 is lovely! I do like Simplicity but I agree that it can be difficult to see beyond the images on the front sometimes (not just for Simplicity, for a lot of companies)
ReplyDeleteI really like the look of 1882, with short sleeves. It looks really elegant and I love the pocket details.
